Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have filed a patent infringement against Pocketpair Inc.

Nintendon’t Like Copyright Infringement

Well the time has finally come after months of discussion and debate on if Pocketpair Inc the creators of the worldwide phenomenon Palworld had stepped on any copyright with its not so very subtle Pokémon like game with guns. Well it looks like they have.

This lawsuit seeks an injunction against infringement and compensation for damages on the grounds that Palworld, a game developed and released by the Defendant, infringes multiple patent rights.

Nintendo will continue to take necessary actions against any infringement of its intellectual property rights including the Nintendo brand itself, to protect the intellectual properties it has worked hard to establish over the years.

The Official Release

What does this mean for the future of Palworld well in my personal opinion I think this is going to have the opposite affect that Nintendo want and remind people that Palworld exists and send players straight back to the game.

But in the legal sense only time will tell and when we know more we will be sure to update the story.
