Sega appears to be considering launching its own Netflix-like subscription service for video games similar services on the market such as Xbox Game Pass and Ubisoft + which see gamers pay a monthly fee for access to a range of titles.
Sega’s president Shuji Utsumi told the BBC such subscription products were “very interesting”, and his firm was “evaluating some opportunities”.
“We’re thinking something – and discussing something – we cannot disclose right now,”

In my personal opinion I don’t see this a being a great idea in a world where rivals such as Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, EA and Ubisoft all offering their own membership plans. I dont see a world where people are going to shell out more money for another subscription service that already has so many of its games on the competing services.
But who knows maybe I’m wrong and the idea of Metaphor: ReFantazio, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Persona and the latest Sonic the Hedgehog game are enough to get people to shell out more but i guess only time will tell.
