In a year that saw so many game studio closers and lay offs it’s nice to see a game studio out there doing so well that they are taking the time to reward the people that got them there.
Shift Up makers of the breakout hit Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory Nikke have gifted all its employees a PS5 Pro and $3.4k as an end-of-year bonus. The consoles were presented to Shift Up’s around 300 employees at a company event held in Seoul on Monday.
Speaking to the South Korean publication Naver, a Shift Up representative said the bonuses were intended to encourage the existing talent at the company.
Stellar Blade was released for PlayStation 5 last year. ShiftUp has claimed that sales of the game have exceeded 1 million units worldwide. While Development of Nikke began as early as 2017, and it was released for Android and iOS in 2022, and Windows in 2023. I am a big fan of both titles.
Last year the ShiftUp also confirmed it was exploring the possibility of developing a Stellar Blade sequel and with all its success I cant see why they wouldn’t so fingers crossed we learn more soon.
