In a significant development for the Gears of War franchise, People Can Fly, renowned for their work on Gears of War: Judgment, has announced their collaboration with The Coalition to co-develop the upcoming title, Gears of War: E-Day.
This partnership marks People Can Fly’s return to the Gears of War universe, having previously co-developed the original trilogy and led the development of Gears of War: Judgment. Their involvement in E-Day is expected to bring fresh perspectives and innovative gameplay mechanics to the series.

About ‘Gears of War: E-Day’
Gears of War: E-Day is set 14 years before the original game, focusing on the early days of the Locust Horde’s emergence. Players will experience the origins of iconic characters Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago as they navigate the chaos of Emergence Day. The game aims to blend the series’ signature third-person shooter mechanics with a compelling narrative exploring themes of brotherhood and survival.

Development and Release
Developed using Unreal Engine 5, Gears of War: E-Day is slated for release on Windows and Xbox Series X/S platforms. The collaboration between The Coalition and People Can Fly is anticipated to deliver a game that honours the franchise’s legacy while introducing new elements to engage both long-time fans and newcomers.
