Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Will Get an Extra 24 Hours on PS5 After PSN Outage.

Thank you Capcom

The Monster Hunter community was in for a bit of a shake-up when a recent PlayStation Network (PSN) outage caused issues for many gamers trying to access the highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds Beta on PS5. Thankfully, Capcom has listened to player feedback and has announced an additional 24 hours at a later date to enjoy the Beta, ensuring fans won’t miss out on their chance to dive into the wilds of this new hunting adventure.

On February 9, 2025, PlayStation users experienced widespread issues accessing PSN, leaving many unable to join in on the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta. The Beta event, which had been eagerly anticipated by fans of the franchise, was set to run over several days, offering players a chance to get a taste of the newest installment in the Monster Hunter series.

The PSN outage meant that many players who had been planning to get a head start on the Beta were left in the dark, unable to connect to the game’s servers. With the Beta being an exclusive opportunity to experience new content and mechanics, missing out due to technical issues left many frustrated.

Capcom’s Response to the Outage

Capcom has a history of listening to its community, and they quickly responded to the situation. In a statement, the developer acknowledged the PSN issues and expressed empathy for those affected by the outage. To ensure that everyone would have a fair chance to participate in the Beta, Capcom confirmed that they re considering extending the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta for an additional 24 hours on the PlayStation 5 platform.

What’s New in Monster Hunter Wilds?

The Monster Hunter Wilds Beta has already provided a glimpse into the exciting new features that fans of the series can look forward to. Set in a completely new setting, Monster Hunter Wilds introduces a more expansive world filled with dynamic ecosystems and wild creatures that offer new hunting challenges.

There are a few new features in Monster Hunter Wilds’ Open Beta Test 2 that weren’t available in the first open beta test.

  • The Base Camp’s Training Area, where you can test out weapons to your heart’s content.
  • Private Lobbies, allowing you to create online sessions only you and your friends can enter.
  • Online Single Player mode, where you do not have to enter multiplayer lobbies. You will still be able to use an SOS Flare to recruit players mid-quest if you desire.

If you created a character during the second open beta test, you’ll receive the following rewards in the full game (not in the test) for your participation:
