Control 2 Entered Full Production this Month

Exciting

Remedy Entertainment has announced that Control 2 has entered full production as of February 2025. This milestone indicates that the game has completed its production readiness phase and is now fully focused on development.

The original Control, released in 2019, achieved significant success, selling over 4.5 million copies worldwide, with 600,000 units sold in 2024 alone. The sequel is expected to expand upon the original’s universe, introducing enhanced combat mechanics and deeper exploration elements.

In addition to Control 2, Remedy is working on several other projects:

  • Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake: A revival of the classic third-person shooters, developed in collaboration with Rockstar Games.
  • FBC: Firebreak: A multiplayer title set in the Control universe, currently in full production, with a planned launch in 2025.
  • Alan Wake 2: The 2023 horror-thriller has recently become profitable, demonstrating Remedy’s ability to craft engaging narrative experiences.

While a specific release date for Control 2 has not been announced, the game is expected to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Given Remedy’s previous production timelines, a late 2026 release window seems plausible, though no official date has been confirmed.

For fans eager to explore the expanded universe of Control, FBC: Firebreak is slated for release in 2025. This multiplayer title will offer a new way to experience the world of Control, focusing on cooperative gameplay and set in the same universe.

As development progresses, Remedy Entertainment continues to build upon its reputation for creating immersive and engaging experiences, with Control 2 poised to be a significant addition to their portfolio.
