Remedy Entertainment has announced that the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake has entered full production. This update was shared in the company’s latest financial statement, highlighting steady progress in collaboration with Rockstar Games toward key development objectives.
The remakes are being developed using Remedy’s proprietary Northlight Engine, the same technology that powered successful titles like Alan Wake 2 and Control. This engine choice ensures modern graphics and gameplay capabilities for both games.
While an official release date has not been announced, the project entered full production during the second quarter of 2024. Given the development timeline, a release in late 2025 to mid-2026 is anticipated.
The remakes will be available on modern platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Fans can look forward to experiencing the classic neo-noir narrative with enhanced visuals and updated gameplay mechanics.
