A new competitive mode called S&D Extraction is coming to Halo Infinite. It’s Halo Studios take on Search and Destroy built on the Extraction game type.
An overview taken from Halo Waypoint:
- Single life, round-based
- Best of 11 rounds (first to 6 wins the match)
- One team starts on Offense, the other starts on Defense (alternating after each round)
- Maps are asymmetrical with 2 Extraction Sites
- Offense must determine which site to attack and initiate an Extraction on the site. Once the Extraction begins, the defending team must convert.
No bomb needs to be carried, each team member can kick the fuse off.
The game mode features a credits system similar to Counter Strike where you earn coin during the round to spend the next round on “things like weapons, grenades, equipment, and even power equipment like Active Camo.”
An interesting feature is the ability to respawn at a massive cost of credits. The risk is if your respawn is ineffective, you will be hurting weapon wise the round after.
