In a recent interview with Variety, Neil Druckmann Game director on the first two Last of us games suggested that The Last of Us might be over and done with at Naughty Dog

Druckmann said to Variety “I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of ‘Last of Us.’ This could be it”

 It’s a rather ambiguous thing to say and he hasn’t really clarified what he meant by the statement but I feel like we should expect at least one more game in the franchises especially if PlayStation has anything to say about it. Last of Us Part II is one of the best-selling PlayStation 4 games and the fastest-selling PlayStation 4 exclusive, with over four million units sold in its release weekend and over ten million by 2022. making the Last of Us one of it’s biggest franchises.
