Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the establishment of Dark Outlaw Games, a new first-party studio within PlayStation Studios, led by Jason Blundell. Blundell is renowned for his pivotal role in developing the Call of Duty Zombies mode during his tenure at Treyarch.

The name of the studio was confirmed by Blundell in an interview with Jeff Gerstmann that was published on Monday.

Prior to this, Blundell co-founded Deviation Games in 2020, aiming to create original content for PlayStation platforms. However, Deviation Games was closed in 2024 without releasing any titles.

Dark Outlaw Games is currently in the recruitment phase, with Blundell hinting at ambitious projects to come. He stated, “We’ve been working in the shadows for a while, and when we’ve got something to talk about, we’ll step out into the light.”
