Ubisoft has reportedly implemented an anti-harassment plan to protect the developers of Assassin’s Creed Shadows ahead of its release on March 20, 2025. This initiative comes in response to significant backlash from certain segments of the gaming community, particularly concerning the game’s portrayal of Yasuke, a Black samurai.
According to reports, Ubisoft has established a dedicated team to monitor social media platforms such as Twitter, Reddit, and YouTube for instances of targeted harassment. This team is prepared to respond swiftly, including taking legal action if necessary, to address any harassment directed at the development team.
Additionally, developers have reportedly been advised against sharing their affiliation with Ubisoft on social media to avoid potential harassment. The company has emphasized its commitment to supporting its employees during this challenging period.
