Microsoft’s ID@Xbox program, launched in 2013, has paid over $5 billion to independent game developers worldwide.
Over the past year, more than 1,000 games have been released through the program, including titles like Balatro, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and Phasmophobia.
ID@Xbox provides developers with free development kits, access to technical documentation, and support for integrating features like Xbox Live, Kinect, and SmartGlass. The program also facilitates the Xbox Play Anywhere initiative, allowing players to enjoy games across Xbox consoles, Windows PCs, and other devices.
This substantial financial support underscores Microsoft’s commitment to fostering a diverse and thriving indie gaming ecosystem on Xbox platforms.
