At the 2025 Game Developers Conference, Hasbro’s Senior Vice President of Digital Games, Dan Ayoub, announced that the company is actively developing plans for the future of the Baldur’s Gate series. He mentioned that fans can expect to hear more details “in pretty short order,” though he emphasized that Hasbro is taking a measured approach to ensure high-quality developments.
Baldur’s Gate 3, developed by Larian Studios, achieved remarkable success, selling over 10 million copies by early 2025 and earning numerous Game of the Year awards. Following this success, Larian Studios has decided to focus on new projects, leaving the future direction of the Baldur’s Gate franchise in the hands of Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast.

While specific details about upcoming projects, such as the potential development of Baldur’s Gate 4, have not been disclosed, Ayoub’s comments indicate that significant developments are forthcoming. Fans can anticipate official announcements from Hasbro in the near future, providing clarity on the series’ direction.
