Palworld on Switch 2 is a Possibility If the Console is ‘Beefy Enough’

“100% worth considering.”

Palworld, developed by Pocketpair, is an open-world survival game that has drawn comparisons to Pokémon due to its creature-collecting mechanics. However, the game is notably demanding in terms of hardware requirements. At the Game Developers Conference, Pocketpair’s communications director, John ‘Bucky’ Buckley, stated that Palworld is “a beefy game,” making it unsuitable for the current Nintendo Switch hardware.

Regarding the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, Buckley expressed interest in a potential Palworld release, contingent upon the console’s performance capabilities. He mentioned that Pocketpair has not yet seen the Switch 2’s specifications and is awaiting more information. If the new console meets the necessary hardware requirements, developing Palworld for it would be “100% worth considering.”

In summary, while Palworld is not currently planned for the existing Nintendo Switch due to its demanding nature, Pocketpair is open to the possibility of bringing the game to the Switch 2, provided the console’s specifications are sufficient to support it.
