Nintendo has introduced the Virtual Game Cards feature for Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, enhancing the flexibility of digital game management. This system allows users to share digital games across multiple consoles linked to the same Nintendo Account family group. Players can lend games to family members for up to two weeks, after which the game becomes inaccessible until returned. Additionally, the feature supports transferring games between systems, facilitating seamless access to your digital library across different devices.
It’s important to note that while the Virtual Game Cards system offers enhanced sharing capabilities, certain titles may have versions specifically optimized for the Switch 2, referred to as “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” games. These editions are designed to leverage the enhanced hardware of the Switch 2 and can only be played on that console.
