​Jagex, the developer behind RuneScape, has announced a new addition to the franchise: RuneScape: Dragonwilds, an open-world survival and crafting game set in the RuneScape universe. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, Dragonwilds offers modern visuals and is designed for solo play or co-op with up to three friends. Players will engage in activities such as building, crafting, and combat, with a special emphasis on magic powered by a force called Anima. The game is set on Ashenfall, an unexplored continent in Gielinor, where players aim to slay the dragon queen. ​

Dragonwilds is scheduled to launch into Early Access on Steam in spring 2025. A deep-dive livestream is planned for April 15, 2025, at 2 AM AEST, where the development team will showcase gameplay and answer questions.
