​Nintendo has announced a new 3D platforming adventure titled Donkey Kong Bananza, exclusively for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This marks Donkey Kong’s first fully 3D adventure since Donkey Kong 64, moving beyond the traditional side-scrolling format that has dominated recent titles. ​

In Donkey Kong Bananza, players will experience a fresh, updated look for Donkey Kong as he explores new underground territories. The game combines 3D gameplay with side-scrolling elements reminiscent of the classic Donkey Kong Country series.

The game is scheduled for release on July 17, 2025, approximately six weeks after the Nintendo Switch 2 launches in June. It will retail for $109.95. ​
