n a potentially major leak, Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO has been rated for the unannounced Nintendo Switch 2 by Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Media Regulation. The listing was spotted on the official G.A.M.R. website and includes a rating of 12+, the same age classification the title received on other platforms.
While Bandai Namco has yet to confirm a Switch 2 port, the rating—dated April 28—strongly suggests that a version of the game is in development for Nintendo’s next-generation hardware. If accurate, this would mark the first official indication of Sparking! ZERO heading to the Switch 2, and could position the title as a key third-party launch or early window title for the platform.
Originally released on October 11, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is the latest entry in the Budokai Tenkaichi series and marked a long-awaited return to 3D arena fighting within the Dragon Ball universe. The game received widespread praise for its expansive roster, fluid combat, and faithful presentation. As of February 2025, Bandai Namco reported over 5 million copies sold globally.

The Nintendo Switch 2, expected to launch on June 5, 2025, is rumoured to feature significantly enhanced hardware, including DLSS-supported upscaling, a larger OLED display, and improved Joy-Con stability. Reports have suggested that the system will be capable of running current-gen titles with minimal compromises—a key selling point for third-party developers looking to bring AAA games to the hybrid platform.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time Saudi Arabia’s ratings board has leaked information early. The authority previously listed Mortal Kombat 1 and Resident Evil 4 Remake ports ahead of official announcements.

With the Switch 2’s release looming and Nintendo still tight-lipped about its launch lineup, the Sparking! ZERO rating could signal more port announcements are on the horizon. Fans of the franchise and newcomers alike may have a lot to look forward to when the next-gen Nintendo console finally arrives.
