EA Confirms New Battlefield and Skate Titles Slated for Launch by March 2026

Two juggernauts, one deadline

Electronic Arts has officially confirmed that the next entries in its Battlefield and Skate franchises are set to launch by the end of its fiscal year 2026, which concludes on March 31, 2026. The announcement came during EA’s latest earnings call and marks a significant moment for two of the publisher’s most iconic series.

Battlefield Returns – With a Revamped Approach

The upcoming Battlefield game, yet to receive an official title, is currently in development under the newly consolidated Battlefield Studios banner. This includes veterans from DICE, Ripple Effect, Criterion, and Motive—indicating a renewed all-hands-on-deck strategy for the franchise.

EA CEO Andrew Wilson emphasized that the next Battlefield will be “a true next-gen experience built on learnings from our past entries and driven by player feedback.”

A full reveal is expected in Summer 2025, and multiple insiders suggest the reveal could coincide with a standalone EA showcase around June but would most likely be shown at summer games fest.

Skate’s Comeback Gears Up for a 2026 Launch

Meanwhile, Full Circle’s Skate—simply titled Skate as of now—continues to roll forward toward its long-awaited debut. The game has been in development for several years and will launch as a free-to-play, live-service title with cross-play and cross-progression across platforms.

According to EA, Skate is designed to be a “forever game,” featuring a continually evolving map, seasonal updates, and regular trick and gear additions. It’s understood that an early access build is being targeted for release in late 2025, giving players a chance to experience and shape the game before its full launch.

Community engagement remains a key focus, with Full Circle having already conducted multiple public playtests. Fans should expect more of these ahead of the official release window.

A Pivotal Fiscal Year Ahead

Both Battlefield and Skate are being positioned as cornerstone titles for EA’s fiscal year 2026. The company is projecting net bookings between $7.6 billion and $8 billion, a figure largely driven by these new launches alongside continued strength from its sports lineup.

“We’re entering FY26 with one of the strongest pipelines in EA history,” Wilson stated. “These games represent not just a return to form, but a step forward in how we deliver long-term value to players.”

EA’s next investor update is expected later this summer, where more concrete details and possibly trailers for both games may surface.
