Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, the next game in Asobo Studio’s acclaimed narrative series, has leaked just days ahead of its planned official reveal at the Xbox Games Showcase. The leak originates from a premature Threads post by publisher Focus Entertainment, confirming the game’s title and a 2026 release window for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The now-deleted post featured a short teaser clip and the game’s full title, effectively blowing the lid off what was expected to be one of the Xbox showcase’s bigger third-party surprises.
The Leak
The leak was first spotted by users on social media, where a scheduled promotional post on Focus Entertainment’s official Threads account went live early. It confirmed the title Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and included a logo animation along with the line: “The legacy continues. Coming 2026.”
The post was swiftly taken down, but not before screenshots and the teaser were shared across Reddit and gaming forums.
While no gameplay or plot details have officially been shared, the title “Resonance” suggests thematic or emotional continuity from the previous games.
A short teaser clip included in the leak shows dark, rain-soaked ruins, whispers in the background, and a faint echo of the signature rat swarm audio that’s become synonymous with the series.
Official Reveal Still Expected
Despite the leak, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is still expected to make an appearance during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8. Sources familiar with the situation suggest the full reveal trailer will offer a closer look at the game’s setting and narrative direction, along with confirmation of next-gen platform exclusivity.
Legacy of the Series
The Plague Tale series has become a fan-favourite thanks to its strong storytelling, stealth-focused gameplay, and striking visuals. Innocence launched in 2019 to critical acclaim, followed by Requiem in 2022, which built on the emotional narrative and improved upon the series’ mechanics.
With Resonance, expectations are high that Asobo will once again deliver a visually stunning and narratively rich experience especially given the hardware advantages of current-gen systems.
