Amazing Seasun Games has announced that its highly anticipated free-to-play multiplayer mech shooter Mecha BREAK will officially launch on July 1, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. Revealed during the 2025 Summer Game Fest, the release date was accompanied by a cinematic trailer featuring a new track from Hiroyuki Sawano, the acclaimed composer behind music from Attack on Titan and Kill la Kill.
Steel Beasts and Stylish Battles
Mecha BREAK places players in the cockpit of towering, futuristic war machines in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by the volatile mineral Corite. As members of the covert military force known as S.H.A.D.O.W., players must take part in high-octane PvP and PvPvE combat scenarios. From 3v3 team battles to 6v6 hero-style modes and even large-scale extraction missions, the game offers a suite of competitive formats to suit various playstyles.
Each mech is fully customizable, both in terms of performance and visual flair. Mechs fall into distinct archetypes assault, melee, sniper, recon, and support encouraging players to experiment with different builds and strategies. Mecha BREAK promises a combination of speed, style, and firepower rarely seen in the mech genre, with fast-paced third-person combat drawing comparisons to Overwatch and Armored Core VI.
A Community-Driven Development Cycle
Following its initial reveal in 2023, Mecha BREAK underwent several rounds of testing, including a closed beta in August 2024 and an open beta earlier this year. Though the Steam Next Fest demo in February drew criticism for server instability and concerns around monetization, Amazing Seasun Games has used that feedback to refine the experience.
Executive Producer Kris Kwok addressed those early criticisms in a recent blog post, assuring fans that Mecha BREAK would not be “pay-to-win.” Instead, monetization will focus on cosmetic upgrades such as skins, emblems, and special effects ensuring a level playing field for all players.
“We want players to feel that skill and teamwork are what matter most,” Kwok said. “Customization should be a reflection of identity, not a shortcut to victory.”
PlayStation Version Still Incoming
At launch, Mecha BREAK will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with crossplay enabled between both platforms. While a PlayStation 5 version is confirmed to be in development, a release date for Sony’s platform has not yet been revealed.
Fans can now Wishlist the game on Steam and pre-register via the official website to receive launch bonuses, including exclusive skins and currency packs.
Mecha BREAK is shaping up to be one of 2025’s most exciting free-to-play shooters. With its mix of explosive gameplay, rich customization, and anime-inspired flair, it aims to stand tall in a crowded multiplayer landscape. If you’ve ever dreamed of piloting a giant robot and raining down chaos from above July 1 is your time to shine.
