Ys X: Proud Nordics Heads to Switch 2 and PC in Asia on August 21

Enhanced re-release brings new content, music, and bonuses to Falcom’s storied action RPG series.

Nihon Falcom and Clouded Leopard Entertainment have officially announced that Ys X: Proud Nordics, the enhanced version of the latest entry in the beloved Ys series, will launch across Asia on August 21, 2025, for Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. This upgraded release builds upon Ys X: Nordics, offering new story elements, expanded areas, additional bosses, and various gameplay improvements.

A Bigger, Better Ys Adventure

Ys X: Proud Nordics follows series protagonist Adol Christin in an adventure set among the seafaring people of Obelia Bay. While the base game debuted on PlayStation platforms in Japan in 2023, this revamped edition is optimized for the next generation and will be the first Ys title to arrive on Nintendo’s powerful new handheld-console hybrid, the Switch 2.

The game retains its fast-paced action RPG combat, dual-character switching system, and ship based exploration, while expanding the content with additional story beats and side activities. It’s an ideal entry point for newcomers and a richer revisit for returning fans.

Regional Support and Language Options

This release will feature Japanese voice acting with subtitles available in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean. However, it’s important to note that no English language support has been announced for this version. An international release with English localization remains unconfirmed at this stage.

Bonuses and Discounts

Players who previously purchased the PC version of Ys X: Nordics via Clouded Leopard Entertainment will be able to purchase Ys X: Proud Nordics at a discount through the special “Ys X Special Price Pack.” This offer will be available until August 31, 2026, but unfortunately, save data and bonus content from the original version cannot be carried over.

For those opting for the physical version on Switch 2, an exclusive “Additional Music Collection” CD will be included as a first-print bonus. This disc features newly composed tracks specific to the Proud Nordics release, making it a must-have for collectors and music fans alike.

Ys X: Proud Nordics is set to release in Japan on July 31, 2025, ahead of the wider Asian launch in August. With its enhanced visuals, expanded content, and improved performance, this release continues Falcom’s trend of revisiting and refining their modern Ys entries for newer platforms.

Stay tuned for any updates regarding a Western release, and in the meantime, fans in Asia and importers can look forward to setting sail once more with Adol Christin later this August.
