Hey everyone, some big news dropped recently for fans of the Life is Strange series. Square Enix has officially announced a new Life is Strange Collection coming exclusively to PlayStation 5, set for release on October 2, 2025. For those who’ve been following the franchise, this is quite the bundle but it’s also sparked some debate online.
So what’s inside this collection? It includes all five main titles from the series: the original Life is Strange, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, Life is Strange 2, Life is Strange: True Colors, and the newest addition, Life is Strange: Double Exposure. Plus, it comes with all the downloadable content and even some pre-order bonuses.
Sounds like a dream package for fans, right? Well, here’s where it gets interesting and a bit controversial. Only two of those games True Colours and Double Exposure will actually be on the physical disc. The other three titles are provided via digital redemption codes. So if you’re a collector who prefers everything on disc, that might be a bit disappointing.
Also, it’s worth noting that the original Life is Strange and Before the Storm are included in their remastered forms, which have been met with mixed reviews. Some players felt the remasters didn’t quite live up to expectations visually.
The price point is set at $59.99 USD about $90.00 AUD, which some people feel is fair given the amount of content, while others think it’s a bit steep considering the digital codes.
Pre-orders are already live through the official Square Enix store if you want to get your hands on it early. Personally, I think it’s great to have all the Life is Strange games in one spot, especially for newcomers. But collectors might want to weigh their options carefully.
What do you think? Are you excited about this collection or put off by the digital code setup? Let me know!
