In a massive show of support for the upcoming shooter, Battlefield 6 has reportedly surpassed 500,000 wishlists on Steam and it only took a single weekend to hit the milestone.
The game, which is still months away from launch, was officially added to Steam’s “coming soon” section this past Friday. By Monday morning, the number of players who had added it to their wishlist soared past the half-million mark. For context, this number outpaces the wishlist growth of some of the most anticipated games in recent years, including Starfield and Elden Ring during similar pre-launch periods.
While official Steam stats aren’t always publicly available, data gathered through tracking sites and developer insiders paints a clear picture: the Battlefield brand is back in a big way.
Even before the Steam listing went live, word had already been circulating thanks to the Battlefield Insider Program and early press leaks. Community forums on Reddit and Discord exploded over the weekend, with players dissecting every line of leaked gameplay info and speculation.
Much of the buzz centers on rumored features like dynamic weather, a full campaign mode set in a grounded near-future setting, and a renewed focus on squad-based objectives. There’s also speculation about large-scale PvPvE modes and a new engine overhaul.
And crucially, fans are hopeful about better post-launch support. After 2042 suffered from inconsistent updates and balance issues, DICE has emphasized its commitment to long-term live service backed by community feedback.
Of course, a high wishlist count doesn’t guarantee a great game. The industry has seen more than its fair share of overhyped launches that fell flat. But it does show that Battlefield 6 has something few shooters can boast in 2025: trust being restored.
If DICE can maintain this momentum and deliver a polished, satisfying FPS experience, Battlefield 6 could mark the comeback story fans have been waiting for.
The multiplayer reveal on July 31 will be the real test. Until then, the numbers speak for themselves. Players are watching, and they’re ready.
