Battlefield 6 Beta Dates Locked In For August

Lock in the dates

After months of speculation, EA has finally pulled the curtain back on the highly anticipated open beta for Battlefield 6. The publisher confirmed the beta schedule during its July 31 multiplayer showcase, setting the stage for two public weekends of all-out warfare. If you’ve been itching to get your boots on the ground and test out the latest iteration of the long-running shooter franchise, here’s your official roadmap.

Beta Access Schedule

The Battlefield 6 open beta will roll out in phases across two weekends in August. Here’s how it breaks down:

  • Early Access: August 7–8
  • Open Beta Weekend 1: August 9–10
  • Open Beta Weekend 2: August 14–17

To gain early access, players must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be a part of the Battlefield Labs testing program
  • Have received Twitch Drops via partnered streams

The first open beta weekend kicks off just after early access, offering a stress test for servers and giving the public its first major hands-on with the game. A second open beta weekend, running from August 14 to 17, ensures a broader window for player feedback and refinement.

The beta will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Unlike previous entries, Battlefield 6 is skipping last-gen hardware entirely no PS4 or Xbox One versions will be included. This marks a generational shift for the series, and it’s one that has allowed the developers to go all-in on massive map sizes, environmental destruction, and enhanced AI.

If Battlefield 6 wants to win back long-time fans and skeptical newcomers, this beta will be a critical moment. With the option to shape core gameplay systems and two weekends to iron out issues, EA is betting on transparency and flexibility.

For now, set your reminders:
August 7 is when it all begins.
