Everything Announced at the July 2025 Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase

Third-party power takes centre stage as Nintendo’s July Direct unveils RPG epics, nostalgic remasters, and a bold future for Switch 2.

In its latest Partner Showcase, Nintendo turned the spotlight entirely on third-party developers, showcasing a slew of new titles, remasters, and ports headed to both the Nintendo Switch and the more powerful Switch 2. While no first-party games made an appearance, the presentation was packed with big-name franchises, unexpected revivals, and a few surprises that stole the show. Here’s a rundown of every game announced.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection

Capcom opened the show with a cinematic reveal for the next chapter in the Monster Hunter Stories series. This time, the story promises a darker tone, with corrupted kinships and twisted monsters. Launching exclusively for the Switch 2 in 2026, it looks to build on the emotional weight of the previous entries while offering deeper turn-based mechanics.

Octopath Traveler 0

Square Enix followed with Octopath Traveler 0, a prequel featuring a customizable protagonist and new mechanics that blend classic RPG systems with more cinematic storytelling. It’s set for release on both the Switch and Switch 2 this December.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales

This ambitious sci-fi RPG from an indie studio grabbed attention with its sharp pixel-art visuals and real-time time-travel mechanic. Slated for 2026 on the Switch 2, The Adventures of Elliot promises layered storytelling across multiple time periods.

Once Upon a Katamari

Bandai Namco unveiled a brand-new entry in the Katamari Damacy series, packed with whimsical levels and revamped physics. Once Upon a Katamari drops October 24, 2025, and brings co-op play to the series for the first time.

Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted

PopCap surprised fans with a complete remake of the original Plants vs. Zombies, rebuilt with new visuals, a re-recorded soundtrack, and added features like local co-op and versus modes. It launches October 23 for both consoles.

Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac

A remastered version of the beloved platformer Pac-Man World 2 was revealed, featuring updated graphics and smoother controls. The game lands on September 26, continuing Namco’s trend of reviving early-2000s classics.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles

Fans of tactical RPGs were treated to a long-awaited remaster of Final Fantasy Tactics, arriving September 30. The remake includes voice acting, rebalanced difficulty, and new side missions enhanced for both Switch and Switch 2.

Persona 3 Reload

Coming exclusively to the Switch 2, Persona 3 Reload brings the full remake experience of the Atlus classic to Nintendo platforms for the first time. It’s arriving October 23, just in time for the spooky season.

EA Sports FC 26

EA showed off the Switch debut of its flagship football franchise. EA Sports FC 26 is the first version in years to run on the Frostbite engine on a Nintendo console, releasing September 26 across both platforms.

Madden NFL 26

In a shocking move, EA confirmed that Madden NFL 26 will come to both Switch and Switch 2. It’s the franchise’s first Nintendo appearance in over a decade, launching August 14.

NBA Bounce

This arcade-style basketball game mixes sports with silly, stylized action. Though separate from the NBA 2K series, it’s launching September 26 and appears to be aimed squarely at casual players and kids.

Star Wars Outlaws

Ubisoft brought a fresh look at Star Wars Outlaws, confirming the open-world title will be fully playable on both Nintendo consoles starting September 4. The footage ran smoothly on Switch 2 hardware, suggesting solid optimization.

Cronos: The New Dawn

From the makers of Layers of Fear, this sci-fi horror game features resource management, base-building, and psychological tension. Launching September 5 for Switch 2, it’s a surprising genre blend from Bloober Team.

Apex Legends (Switch 2)

Apex Legends is finally coming to the Switch 2. The port is said to feature 60fps gameplay, cross-play, and full content parity with other versions, launching August 5.

Yakuza Kiwami & Kiwami 2

SEGA announced that both remakes will be coming to Switch 2 on November 13, making it the first time Yakuza enters Nintendo territory. These ports include all the content from the PS4 versions.

Goodnight Universe

This emotionally resonant indie title, developed by the creators of Before Your Eyes, surprised viewers with its distinct art style and eye-tracking integration. It’s set to launch November 11 on Switch 2 and other platforms.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

Though not a full first-party Zelda game, this new musou-style title based on the Hyrule Warriors formula continues the saga in a new, alternate-timeline direction. It’s scheduled for a “Winter 2025” release on Switch 2.

Chillin’ by the Fire

One of the showcase’s coziest reveals, this beach-campfire life sim is out now on the Switch 2. The title encourages players to roast marshmallows, tell stories, and simply relax with NPCs.

Hela

Closing out the Direct was a heartfelt trailer for Hela, a narrative-focused adventure starring a mouse in a Viking world. Coming to Switch 2 in 2026, it gave off strong Moss and Ori vibes.

While many fans were hoping for some first-party bombshells, this Direct delivered a wide variety of content from nostalgic remakes to heavyweight RPGs and inventive indies. It also reinforced the Switch 2’s growing importance, with many major titles skipping the original console entirely. If this Partner Showcase is any indication, Nintendo is betting big on third-party support for its next-gen handheld.
