If you’ve been keeping an eye on Tekken 8, there’s some exciting news for fans who love a good throwdown. Bandai Namco just dropped word that Armor King yes, the iconic masked wrestler with that intimidating spiked armor is making a comeback as a DLC character on October 16. For those who grabbed the Season 2 Character & Stage Pass, there’s even an early sneak peek starting October 13. It’s always cool to see characters like Armor King return, especially when they come with fresh moves and a bit of a makeover. From what I’ve seen, his new look is sharper, with more pronounced armor spikes, and his fighting style feels even more brutal. Rumour has it his new moves include a poison mist counter and a fiery Rage Art that looks seriously deadly.
But that’s not all coming this winter, Tekken 8 is introducing Miary Zo, a completely new fighter hailing all the way from Madagascar. It’s a big deal because she’s the first character from Madagascar in the entire Tekken universe. Miary Zo’s fighting style is inspired by traditional African martial arts, specifically Moraingy, which is something you don’t see every day in fighting games. It adds a fresh cultural flavor to the roster, which I think fans will really appreciate. Plus, the upcoming Baobab Horizon stage that comes with her looks visually stunning and fits her origins perfectly.

Overall, the addition of Armor King and Miary Zo shows that Tekken 8 is doubling down on both nostalgia and innovation giving long-time fans a familiar face to master, while also expanding the game’s diversity with new, unique characters. It’s shaping up to be a strong season for the game, and I can’t wait to jump back in and test these new fighters out.
For those on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC, the Season 2 Character & Stage Pass is available now, so you can get ready for these new arrivals. If you haven’t checked out Tekken 8 yet, now’s a great time to get in on the action.
