Fate/EXTRA Record Delayed to Spring 2026

A Bit More Patience for Fans

Good news and bad news for fans of Fate/EXTRA Record. The remake of the beloved dungeon-crawling RPG, originally slated for release in 2025, has been pushed back to spring 2026. While waiting longer is never fun, this delay means the developers are taking extra care to polish the game and give players a top-notch experience.

Director Kazuya Nino recently explained that this project is his first time working on a fully voiced game, including voices for background characters. That added complexity meant the team underestimated how much time it would take to get everything just right. It’s clear they want to deliver something special, not just rush it out.

The game will still launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. For those eager to pre-order, especially in Japan, several editions have been announced, from standard to deluxe, with cool extras like art books, soundtracks, and collectible items.

Ultimately, while waiting is a bummer, it’s reassuring that the team values quality. When Fate/EXTRA Record finally arrives in spring 2026, it should be worth the wait.
