IO Interactive is bringing Hitman: Absolution to a whole new set of platforms, marking the first time the 2012 stealth-action title will be officially available on mobile devices. The game is scheduled to launch on iOS and Android this fall, with a Nintendo Switch release planned for late 2025, followed by a dedicated version for the Switch 2 in 2026.
Originally released on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, Hitman: Absolution puts players in the role of Agent 47 as he navigates a personal mission that tests both his skills and loyalty. Known for its mix of open-ended level design and cinematic storytelling, the game received praise for its visuals and stealth mechanics, even if it divided longtime fans over its more narrative-focused approach.
The mobile version is said to feature fully reworked controls tailored for touchscreens, along with enhanced visuals to suit modern devices. The Switch versions will aim to deliver the full console experience on the go, with the Switch 2 edition expected to take advantage of upgraded hardware for improved performance and graphics.
No exact release dates have been provided yet, but IO Interactive has promised more details in the coming months.
