Indie developer Pixel Abyss has officially announced Death By Scrolling, a vertically scrolling roguelike RPG set to release on PC. The game blends fast-paced action with procedural dungeon design, offering players a unique twist on the roguelike genre.
A Roguelike With a Vertical Twist
In Death By Scrolling, players ascend perilous towers filled with traps, monsters, and hidden treasures. Unlike traditional roguelikes, the vertical movement adds a constant sense of urgency: falling behind can be deadly, and each screen scroll brings new challenges.
The game features a variety of playable characters, each with unique abilities and skill trees, encouraging players to experiment with different strategies. Combat is designed to be fluid and fast-paced, combining melee attacks, ranged options, and special abilities to overcome increasingly difficult enemies.

- Procedural Towers: Every run offers a new tower layout, filled with enemies, loot, and environmental hazards.
- Character Progression: Unlockable skills, weapons, and abilities give each playthrough a unique feel.
- Fast-Paced Combat: Vertical scrolling combat keeps players on their toes, requiring quick reflexes and strategic thinking.
- Roguelike Replayability: Death is permanent, but players can earn upgrades and unlock new content for future runs.
