Lucasfilm Games and MachineGames have confirmed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will make its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, expanding the upcoming adventure game’s reach beyond Xbox and PC.
A Wider Release for Indy’s New Adventure
Originally announced as an Xbox Series X|S and PC exclusive under Bethesda, the game quickly drew attention as MachineGames’ first major project outside the Wolfenstein series. Now, with the Switch 2 on the horizon, Nintendo players will get the chance to step into the fedora as well.
Set between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, the game follows Indy as he investigates an ancient mystery tied to the mythical “Great Circle.” Early previews have highlighted its blend of first-person exploration, puzzle-solving, and cinematic set pieces, with MachineGames’ knack for action storytelling at the core.
Designed with the Switch 2 in Mind
The Switch 2 version is being developed with Nintendo’s new hardware capabilities in mind. While no specific details were shared, Bethesda noted that the port will aim for visual parity with the Xbox and PC editions, while still optimizing performance for portable play. Given the hybrid nature of the system, fans can expect features tailored for handheld adventuring, such as adjustable UI options and cloud save support.
Release Window
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is slated to launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2025, with the Switch 2 version arriving the following year in 2026. The staggered release suggests that Nintendo’s next-gen console will still see major third-party support well into its early life cycle.
This marks the first time an Indiana Jones game has appeared on a Nintendo platform in more than a decade. For long-time fans, it’s a chance to relive Indy’s classic pulpy adventures in a modern package. For Nintendo, it signals a stronger partnership with major publishers as the Switch 2 begins its rollout.
