CI Games has officially confirmed that Lords of the Fallen II will arrive in 2026, bringing its brutal dark fantasy world back for another round. The sequel is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with the PC version expected to launch as an Epic Games Store exclusive.
The announcement was made during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, where a cinematic teaser gave fans a first glimpse of the sequel’s direction. While details remain under wraps, the footage hinted at a darker tone and a more ambitious scope than its 2023 predecessor.
A Sequel With Something to Prove
The first Lords of the Fallen reboot, released in 2023, had a rocky reception. Critics and players praised its atmosphere and dual-realm mechanics but also pointed out uneven pacing, bugs, and repetitive combat. Even so, it built a dedicated following among fans of Soulslike games who appreciated its distinct approach to the genre.
With Lords of the Fallen II, CI Games and developer Hexworks appear determined to refine their formula. Early statements suggest expanded co-op features, improved combat fluidity, and a story that pushes deeper into the grim lore of Mournstead.
The Epic Games Store Question
One detail that’s stirred conversation is the PC version’s exclusivity. Multiple reports indicate that Lords of the Fallen II will debut only on the Epic Games Store, at least initially. While this move may help fund the project, it has sparked some disappointment among Steam loyalists.
What Comes Next
A firm release date hasn’t been set beyond “2026,” but fans can expect more news in the coming months. If CI Games delivers on its promises, Lords of the Fallen II could be the redemption arc the series has been waiting for.
