Announced at the The Indie Brew’s ANZ Indie Showcase, the 2D metroidvania style Aussie Bogan Hero will be releasing in Q1, 2026 on Steam.
In what will surely be one of the most Australian games ever, you play as Davo on his quest to reopen his Pub and save Dusty Spring from a shady megacorp.
‘Cause sometimes, it takes a legend in a singlet to save the day.
Snag Swag Studios have also announced that a demo will be available from October 2nd.

Aussie Bogan Hero is a fast-paced 2D metroidvania that throws players into the dusty heart of outback Australia. When shady megacorp Drill and Thrill unleashes supernatural chaos from a local opal mine, the once-peaceful town of Dusty Springs is plunged into lockdown, shutting down the servo, the footy, and worst of all, the pub. Players step into the thongs of Davo, a mullet-wearing, pint-loving local who sets out to fight back against corrupt suits, mutated wildlife, and an outback warped by otherworldly powers, all in a quest to reopen his beloved watering hole and save his town.

From blistering desert landscapes to cursed mines and iconic landmarks, Aussie Bogan Hero offers an action-packed journey across a surreal version of Australia. With backyard brawling combat, improvised weapons like cricket bats and pub darts, and a host of cheeky upgrades (including a goon bag glider), players can take on magpies, bin chickens, redbacks, and more. Packed with satirical Aussie humour, offbeat characters, and chaotic fun, this is a true-blue adventure where only a bogan legend in a singlet can save the day.
