Injustice 3 May Have Been Accidentally Leaked by Its Own Voice Actors

Please be Real

For years, fans of NetherRealm’s Injustice series have been asking the same question: when will the third installment arrive? While Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios have kept quiet, a pair of familiar voices may have given away more than they were supposed to.

During recent convention appearances, both George Newbern, best known as the voice of Superman, and Phil LaMarr, who has long played Green Lantern, reportedly told fans that work on Injustice 3 is underway. Attendees claimed Newbern casually mentioned he was “working on Injustice 3 right now,” while LaMarr added, “They’re making another one.” These comments quickly spread across social media and gaming forums, fueling speculation that the DC brawler is finally in development.

To complicate matters, one fan later clarified that they had “misinterpreted” Newbern’s comment, saying it may not have been as direct as first reported. Still, LaMarr’s statement was far less ambiguous, leaving many to wonder whether the actors simply slipped up and confirmed what players have suspected for years.

Industry analysts have pointed out that voice recording is rarely the very first step in a game’s production cycle. If recording sessions are happening now, it could mean Injustice 3 is already deep into development. Some outlets suggest this could place the game on track for a 2026 release, while more cautious speculation pushes the window back to 2028.

The timing would certainly make sense. Support for Mortal Kombat 1 has begun to taper off, and Warner Bros. is looking to expand its lineup of DC projects under James Gunn’s revitalized cinematic universe. A new Injustice game could easily serve as both a fan-pleasing fighter and a tie-in to the broader DC roadmap.

For now, though, it’s still not official. NetherRealm and Warner Bros. have yet to confirm anything publicly, and leaks based on offhand convention chatter aren’t always reliable. Still, the excitement is hard to ignore. After all, the first two Injustice games delivered not only solid fighting mechanics but also some of the most memorable alternate-universe DC storytelling in gaming.

If Newbern and LaMarr really did let the secret slip, fans may not have to wait too much longer to see Superman, Batman, and the rest of DC’s heroes clash once again.
