Nate Fox on Whether Sucker Punch Would Allow Another Studio to Remaster inFAMOUS

Please god

It’s been more than a decade since players first scaled rooftops in Empire City with Cole MacGrath, and yet the inFAMOUS series still holds a special place in the hearts of PlayStation fans. While Sucker Punch Productions has long since shifted its focus to Ghost of Tsushima and now its follow-up, Ghost of Yōtei questions about the studio’s original superhero saga never seem to go away.

In a recent interview, co-director Nate Fox addressed the topic directly. When asked whether Sucker Punch would be open to letting another developer handle a remaster of the inFAMOUS games, Fox didn’t rule it out. In fact, he spoke with clear affection for the series, saying he would “love to see a trilogy re-release” at some point.

Fox was careful, however, to manage expectations. He explained that Sucker Punch is a studio that only takes on one project at a time. At present, every ounce of its energy is tied up in completing Ghost of Yōtei. That leaves little room for the team to circle back to its older titles, even if the demand is there.

This is where the idea of outsourcing comes into play. According to Fox, the studio would be open to another developer stepping in to remaster the inFAMOUS trilogy, should Sony decide the time is right. It’s not a confirmation that anything is happening behind the scenes, but it is the clearest sign yet that the door is open.

For fans, the statement is bound to stir excitement. Both inFAMOUS and inFAMOUS 2 remain highly regarded for their mix of parkour movement, morality-driven choices, and electrifying combat. Even Second Son on PS4 continues to enjoy a loyal following. With so many classic PlayStation series being revived or remastered in recent years, the thought of inFAMOUS getting the same treatment doesn’t feel far-fetched.

Of course, there are still hurdles. Any outside studio would need to earn the trust of Sucker Punch and Sony, while also meeting the expectations of a fan base that has been asking for this revival for years. Yet Fox’s openness suggests that the franchise isn’t locked away in a vault forever.

For now, players will have to wait and see. Sucker Punch’s immediate focus is delivering Ghost of Yōtei, but Nate Fox’s comments have rekindled hope that Cole MacGrath and Delsin Rowe may one day spark back to life on modern hardware.
