Square Enix is gearing up for another big showing at this year’s Tokyo Game Show (TGS), which runs from September 25 to 28 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. Fans of classic RPGs and new adventures alike have plenty to look forward to, as the company has announced a mix of remakes, sequels, and entirely new games.
One of the highlights is the Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, giving long-time fans a chance to revisit these iconic RPGs with refreshed visuals. Players on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC will get hands-on time with the games, while stage events and photo spots featuring the Dragonlord are planned for attendees.
For tactical RPG enthusiasts, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles returns with updated features. Scheduled for release on September 30, 2025, demos will be available on consoles and PC, giving players a chance to dive into its strategic battles ahead of launch.
The beloved Octopath Traveler series also expands with Octopath Traveler 0, offering a new story and familiar gameplay for fans. The game launches on December 4, 2025, and will be playable across multiple platforms at the show.
Square Enix isn’t stopping there. The enhanced Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC players, while newcomers will get a taste of the Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, a brand-new action-adventure title. Other anticipated releases include Killer Inn on Steam and Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, which will arrive in February 2026.
Online worlds aren’t forgotten either. Dragon Quest X Online and Final Fantasy XIV Online will feature updates and playable content for attendees. Fans can also enjoy themed photo spots, freebies like stickers and drinks, and live stage events with developers and voice actors.
