Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s Online Mode “Fox Hunt” Goes Live October 30

Time to Hunt

Konami has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will receive its much-anticipated online battle mode, Fox Hunt, on October 30, 2025, just over two months after the game’s main release.

Fox Hunt isn’t a conventional deathmatch mode. Instead, it plays into the series’ reputation for stealth, deception, and survival. Rather than relying on straight gunfights, players are encouraged to blend into their surroundings, set up ambushes, and make creative use of camouflage to outsmart opponents. In many ways, it takes the tactical cat-and-mouse gameplay that Metal Gear Solid 3 pioneered and reimagines it as a competitive multiplayer experience.

Konami has also clarified that Fox Hunt will not feature cross-play. PlayStation, Xbox, and PC players will all have their own matchmaking pools, which means your team will be limited to the platform you’re on. It’s a decision that may frustrate some fans, though others see it as a way to keep the playing field consistent across different hardware setups.

The mode’s rollout after launch mirrors how Konami handled previous online features in the Metal Gear series. Back in the PlayStation 3 era, Metal Gear Online became a cult favourite thanks to its mix of tactical depth and quirky mechanics. With Fox Hunt, Konami seems keen on recapturing that spirit while making it fit the modern multiplayer landscape.
