Expedition 33 developers Sandfall Interactive have shared a few bits of news on their website today starting with some stats:

• Expedition 33 has sold 5 million copies.
• Expedition 33 Original Soundtrack has 333 million streams.

Some impressive numbers but not surprising given the quality of the game and the soundtrack. It is unknown how many players played the game on Xbox Game Pass.

As a thank you, and to celebrate, Sandfall then shared that a new update is coming to the game, soon:

• A new, playable environment, taking the characters of Expedition 33 to a brand-new location with new enemy encounters and surprises to discover.
• Challenging, new boss battles for late-game players to overcome.
• New costumes for each member of the Expedition, giving even more customization options for players throughout their adventure.
• New text and UI game localizations into Czech, Ukrainian, Latin American Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian, bringing the total number of supported languages to nineteen.
• And more to come…

After much speculation about what DLC may look like for Expedition 33, this feels like a fitting direction.

Seriously, do not sleep on this game.
