Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will soon feature a major crossover event with the Final Fantasy XIII series. This marks the first time Lightning and her world of Cocoon will officially intersect with the FF7 universe, giving fans of both series plenty to look forward to.

While full details haven’t been revealed yet, early teasers suggest that players can expect a special storyline featuring Lightning as a playable character, complete with her signature Blazefire Saber and Paradigm Shift abilities adapted for Ever Crisis’ battle system. The crossover is also expected to include themed gear, limited-time events, and possibly appearances from FFXIII favourites such as Snow and Serah.
