Players on both console and PC may soon benefit from a major shift in how purchases work for the PlayStation platform. Data mining of the PlayStation Store has revealed new symbols indicating a possible PS5 and PC Cross-Buy feature. While not yet officially announced by Sony, multiple sources have confirmed the discovery and consider it credible.
What Was Found
According to reports:
- A user on X (formerly Twitter) going by the name Amethxst posted images showing new icons labelled “PS5/PC games” and “Cross-Buy” embedded in the PlayStation Store’s code.
- Tech site Notebookcheck found the same symbols, noting them inside CSS files and image assets used by the PlayStation Store, suggesting they may have been added as part of upcoming UI changes.
- Dealabs, a community known for uncovering PlayStation-related leaks, also verified that they found new “Cross-Buy” tags for PS5/PC in their testing.
While we should treat the discovery as a promising leak rather than a confirmed announcement, it holds real potential for PlayStation players who also game on PC. The presence of the symbols and verification by multiple sources adds weight to the claim that Sony is moving toward a true cross-buy system between PS5 and PC. If implemented, it could be a significant win for consumers and a smart strategic move for the platform.

One response to “PS5 & PC Cross-Buy Option Discovered and Verified”
Not gonna hold out for it, but it will be a welcome change, ESPECIALLY if they do cross save without needing to pay for PLAYSTATION PLUS (i.e. exactly what xbox have been doing for 2 console generations already)
