Koei Tecmo has officially announced the first major expansion for Dynasty Warriors: Origins, and fans won’t have to wait too long to dive back into the chaos of the Three Kingdoms. The DLC, titled “Visions of Four Heroes,” is set to launch on January 22, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC.
A Fresh Chapter in the War-Torn Saga
“Visions of Four Heroes” is being described as a large-scale expansion, promising a full set of new story missions, fresh playable characters, and expanded combat scenarios that build on the base game’s more grounded approach. The update aims to deepen Origins’ reimagined timeline of the late Han dynasty a period already packed with intrigue, betrayal, and massive-scale battles.
Among the confirmed additions is Zhuhe, a previously non-playable character who will now be fully integrated into the roster. Long-time fans of the franchise will also be pleased to hear that new weapon types, enemy units, and large-scale stage layouts are being added to the mix, giving the game even more replayability.
It’s been a strong comeback year for Dynasty Warriors, with Origins praised for tightening up the series’ scale while keeping its trademark battlefield spectacle intact. If this DLC delivers the kind of depth Omega Force is teasing, Visions of Four Heroes could mark the start of a new era for the franchise one that balances nostalgia with modern storytelling.
After more than two decades of musou mayhem, it’s impressive that Koei Tecmo still finds new ways to reinvent the battlefield. And come January, fans will get to charge back in once again blades ready, morale high, and the Han dynasty waiting to fall all over again.
