Marvel fans won’t have to wait much longer to dive back into Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. Capcom and Marvel Games have announced that the game’s second closed beta will take place from December 5 through December 7, 2025, exclusively on PlayStation 5.
The three-day test will give players another hands-on look at the upcoming tag-team brawler, with a few big surprises joining the roster most notably Spider-Man and Ghost Rider.
Two Fan Favourites Join the Fight
Spider-Man headlines this new phase of testing, complete with a fast, aerial combat style built around web mobility and counter-grapples. Early footage shared by Capcom shows him swinging across the arena to launch combo extensions and catching opponents mid-air a nod to both his Marvel vs. Capcom roots and Insomniac’s recent interpretation.
Ghost Rider, on the other hand, brings pure chaos. His moveset revolves around heavy chain attacks, fiery area-of-effect damage, and a vengeance meter that grows as he takes hits. When it’s full, he can unleash the Penance Stare, a cinematic super that’s already drawing plenty of hype from fans online.
When and How to Play
The second closed beta will run from:
December 5 – December 7, 2025
Platform: PlayStation 5 (no cross-platform access this round)
Capcom has said that progress won’t carry over to the final game, but participants will receive an in-game title and cosmetic when Fighting Souls officially launches next year.
With Fighting Souls, Capcom seems to be building a spiritual successor to Marvel vs. Capcom, blending tag-based combat with deeper character customisation and cinematic presentation. The addition of Spider-Man and Ghost Rider hints that the team is aiming for both crowd-pleasers and cult favourites from Marvel’s back catalogue.
If this beta is anything to go by, the game’s momentum is just starting to build and come December, PlayStation 5 owners will get their best look yet at what Fighting Souls has to offer.
