Resident Evil Code: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero Remakes Reportedly Planned for 2027 and 2028

Let’s Go

Resi Code Veronica

Capcom’s remake pipeline may be far from slowing down, as new claims suggest that Resident Evil Code: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero are both slated to receive full remake treatments with tentative release windows targeting 2027 and 2028, respectively.

According to the report, Code: Veronica is currently positioned as the next classic entry to be rebuilt following the success of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 Remake. Long considered one of the most requested titles among fans, Code: Veronica’s return would modernize the divisive but beloved entry that further explored Claire Redfield’s story and the Ashford family arc.

Meanwhile, Resident Evil Zero the 2002 prequel starring Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen is said to be planned as a later release, potentially arriving in 2028. While Zero has often been viewed as one of the more experimental entries in the franchise, a remake could address longstanding criticisms surrounding its inventory system and pacing, bringing it more in line with Capcom’s modern survival horror design philosophy.

If accurate, the timeline suggests Capcom is continuing its long-term, staggered remake strategy, rather than rushing multiple projects to market. This approach has paid off in recent years, with Resident Evil 4 Remake in particular being both a critical and commercial success.

As with all unconfirmed reports, Capcom has yet to officially announce either remake. However, given the publisher’s proven commitment to revisiting its back catalogue and the sustained popularity of the Resident Evil brand these claims align closely with industry expectations.

For now, fans will have to wait for official confirmation, but if the report holds true, the latter half of the decade could be dominated by some of the series’ most iconic returns.
