PS5 Exclusive Dino Shooter Code Violet Goes Gold, Delayed to January 2026

Keen for this one

Code Violet

Upcoming PS5-exclusive dinosaur shooter Code Violet has officially gone gold, but the developers have confirmed the game has also been delayed to January 2026.

The announcement means the game’s core development is complete, with the delay attributed to additional polish, certification, and final optimisation rather than unfinished content. Going gold typically signals confidence in the project’s stability, suggesting the extra time is being used to refine performance and address last-minute issues.

Code Violet has drawn attention for its blend of fast-paced third-person shooting and prehistoric enemy design, positioning itself as a more arcade-focused alternative to traditional survival shooters. Early footage showcased large-scale dinosaur encounters, heavy weaponry, and a stylised sci-fi presentation tailored specifically for the PS5’s hardware.

While delays are rarely welcomed, this one appears relatively modest and strategic. A January release window allows Code Violet to avoid the crowded holiday period while giving the team room to ensure the game launches in its best possible state.

Code Violet is now slated to launch January 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5.
