Capcom has confirmed plans to revitalize several of its most iconic franchises, including Devil May Cry, Mega Man, and Ace Attorney, signalling a renewed long-term commitment to properties that have been largely dormant or sporadically supported in recent years.
In a recent statement to investors, Capcom outlined a strategy that includes new releases, remakes, and ports to new hardware, positioning these IPs as key pillars of its future roadmap rather than legacy brands left in the past.
While no specific titles or release windows were announced, the language used strongly suggests a multi-pronged approach. That means entirely new entries alongside modern remakes and broader platform availability, particularly as Capcom continues expanding its presence across PC, consoles, and emerging hardware.
Devil May Cry, Mega Man, and Ace Attorney Back in Focus
Among the three franchises, Devil May Cry stands out as the most commercially active in recent memory, with Devil May Cry 5 proving to be one of Capcom’s strongest modern successes. However, Mega Man and Ace Attorney have seen far longer gaps between major releases, relying primarily on legacy collections to maintain visibility.
Capcom’s renewed focus hints that this may soon change. The company has increasingly leaned into high-quality remakes as seen with Resident Evil suggesting similar treatment could be in store for these series. For Ace Attorney in particular, ports and remasters have historically performed well, making it a natural candidate for expansion to newer platforms.
A Broader Strategy at Capcom
This move aligns with Capcom’s broader strategy of maximizing the value of its existing IP Catalog, rather than relying solely on brand-new franchises. With strong financial performance driven by Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Street Fighter, Capcom appears well-positioned to reinvest in fan-favourite series that have long been requested by the community.
For now, fans will need to wait for official announcements to see exactly what form this revival takes. But with Capcom openly stating its intent, it seems increasingly likely that Devil May Cry, Mega Man, and Ace Attorney are gearing up for a major comeback in the years ahead.
