IO Interactive has officially confirmed that 007 First Light, the studio’s upcoming James Bond game, has been delayed to May 27, 2026 a date that will look familiar to anyone tracking Rockstar’s release calendar. The new launch window aligns with Grand Theft Auto VI’s former release date, before Rockstar pushed GTA 6 further back.

Originally revealed as IO Interactive’s take on James Bond following years of speculation, 007 First Light marks the studio’s first major project outside the Hitman franchise in over a decade. The game is positioned as an origin story for Bond, focusing on a younger, less refined 007 before he becomes the iconic agent fans know.
