Riot Games has officially confirmed that 2XKO, its long-awaited tag-team fighting game set in the League of Legends universe, will launch on January 20, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Formerly known as Project L, 2XKO has been in development for several years and represents Riot’s first full step into the traditional fighting game space. The title features fast-paced, two-versus-two combat, a simplified control scheme designed to be accessible for newcomers, and deep mechanics aimed squarely at competitive players.

Since its reveal, 2XKO has drawn significant attention for its visual style, rollback netcode support, and strong focus on esports viability. Riot has repeatedly emphasized that the game is being built with long-term competitive support in mind, including ongoing balance updates and community-driven development feedback.

The January launch date positions 2XKO as one of the first major fighting game releases of 2026, with expectations high that it will quickly establish itself within both the broader FGC and Riot’s already massive player ecosystem.

Riot Games has stated that more information on launch content, final roster details, and post-launch plans will be shared closer to release.
