Doug Bowser Steps Down as President of Nintendo of America After Over a Decade

Doug Bowser has officially stepped down as President of Nintendo of America, ending a tenure that spanned more than ten years with the company.

Nintendo confirmed Bowser’s departure earlier today, marking the end of a leadership era that oversaw some of the company’s most successful years in the modern gaming landscape. Bowser joined Nintendo in 2015 and rose to the role of President of Nintendo of America in 2019, succeeding Reggie Fils-Aimé.

During his time at the helm, Bowser guided Nintendo through the Nintendo Switch generation, which went on to become one of the most successful consoles in the company’s history. Under his leadership, Nintendo launched major first-party titles, expanded its global presence, and navigated the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-era games industry.
