Bandai Namco is giving fans of Code Vein something to dig into well ahead of the sequel’s full release. A standalone Code Vein II Character Creator Demo is set to launch on January 23, letting players build and save their custom Revenants before the game itself arrives.
The demo is focused entirely on character creation, with no combat or story content included. Players will be able to experiment with the sequel’s expanded customization tools, which Bandai Namco says are deeper and more flexible than those found in the original game. Hair styles, facial features, body proportions, accessories, and outfit elements are all available, with several new options designed specifically for Code Vein II rather than carried over from the first entry.
Progress from the demo will carry over into the full game, allowing players to import their created character at launch. This approach mirrors what Bandai Namco has done in the past with other titles and gives fans a chance to fine-tune their look without feeling rushed on day one.
The original Code Vein built a strong following in part thanks to its character creator, which became a major point of discussion online as players shared elaborate designs and crossover-inspired looks. Early impressions suggest the sequel is leaning even harder into that aspect, with more granular control and improved lighting to better reflect how characters will appear in-game.
Bandai Namco hasn’t confirmed how long the demo will remain available or whether additional cosmetic options will be added closer to release. For now, January 23 marks the first hands-on opportunity with Code Vein II, even if it’s strictly through sliders and presets rather than swords and Blood Veils.
Fans who take their time in character creators, this early demo is likely to be more than enough to keep them busy.
