The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin has been delayed, with the highly anticipated action RPG now targeting a March release window.
The delay was confirmed by Netmarble, which cited the need for additional development time to ensure the game meets quality expectations. Originally slated for an earlier launch, the open-world adaptation of the popular anime franchise will now arrive a little later than planned as the team continues polishing core systems and performance.
First revealed as a large-scale reimagining of the Seven Deadly Sins universe, Origin is being positioned as a major step forward for the franchise. Unlike previous entries, the game features a fully open world, real-time combat, and a new original story that runs parallel to the events of the anime and manga. Players will explore Britannia with a cast that includes familiar faces like Meliodas and Elizabeth, alongside newly introduced characters.
Netmarble has previously emphasized that Origin is being built simultaneously for console, PC, and mobile platforms, a move that has raised expectations and technical challenges for the project. The added development time is expected to focus on optimization across platforms, combat responsiveness, and overall world density.
While delays are never ideal, the decision is unlikely to come as a surprise given the scope of the project. Open-world action RPGs, particularly those launching across multiple platforms, have increasingly opted for extra time rather than risk a troubled release.
Netmarble has not announced a specific release date within March, but said more information will be shared closer to launch. For now, fans will have to wait a little longer to step back into the world of The Seven Deadly Sins with the hope that the delay results in a stronger final release.
